2. From the Director for Personnel Management
We welcome Ms. Mirna Zoughbi, the new secretary at the Registrar’s Office to replace Ms. Emily Sa’adeh.Mirna is a BU graduate of the 2002 class in Business Administration. Welcome aboard Mirna and best wishes.
3. From the Director of Quality Assurance
Brother Rolando Dizon, Fsc, Q. A. Director, wishes to announce that BethlehemUniversity will host two workshops on April 16-17, 2008, at Furno Hall, from 8am to 3pm.
The topics are:
1.“Brain Gym” mental gymnastics that can help improve one’s memory and other thinking processes; and
2.“Quantum Touch Healing” learning to use one’s positive energy to repair or heal damaged body tissues.
The workshops will be given by Brother Dominic Chong, FSC from Singapore.
Everyone is invited; admission is free, although a donation of 10 shekels is welcome.
4. From the Faculty of Education
On Monday, February 4th, the Faculty of Education, as part of the Quality of Education Project, invited representatives of the local community: municipalities, Education office, Ministry of Education, local NGO”S, school directors, teachers, parents, and local media to discuss the role and responsibilities of the local community towards education. Dr. Irene Hazou, Assistant to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, welcomed all participants and highlighted in her speech the value of the partnership between the local community and the schools to achieve the educational goals and the role of BethlehemUniversity in developing the education sector in Palestine. The Dean of the Education Faculty, Rizek Sleibi, and Dr. Sami Adwan in their presentation focused on the role of the local community as partners to the schools in achieving the aims and objectives of education. At the end of the meeting, a committee was formed from the local community to follow up the efforts in creating an active partnership between the schools and the local community.
