The Second International Conference on Religion and Media will be held in Tehran and Qom, Iran, from November 9 – 12, 2008.  The invitation is for all media researchers and scholars, representatives form diverse religious traditions, professionals and students involved with the subjects of the conference to attend and submit a paper.  Further information could be found at the conference website: www.religion-media.ir .

A few scholarships are available to partially subsidize the costs of participants with selected papers.

The Masdar Institute of Science and Technology is established by the government of Abu Dhabi and has been developed in cooperation with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA.  MIT assist the Masdar Institute in development of graduate programs, joint collaborative research, support in terms of organization and administrative structure, as well as scholarly assessment of potential faculty candidates.  They are offering a full scholarship for MSc programs to all students who will be accepted into this program.

The Palestinian Faculty Development Program (PFDP) is asking to nominate faculty for the Teaching Excellence Awards (TEA).  The awards are designed to spotlight the importance of teaching in higher education, inspire teachers within the academic community and recognize success.  There are two types of awards:

1. The Senior Teaching Excellence award.
2. The Junior Teaching Excellence award.

The value of each award will be up to $2,000.  Both awards will be given to handful of faculty for their outstanding achievement in teaching.

The application deadline for both awards is May 30, 2008.

ADALA, a student association that supports academic exchange between Palestinian and French universities is receiving applications for scholarships to study in the Sciences Po Institute in Paris for Master Degrees. Applicants must have at least passed the DELF at the time of application. Applicants for the scholarship must first seek acceptance in Sciences Po. تعلن المنظمة العربية للتنمية الإدارية عن فتح باب الترشيح لجائزة المملكة العربية السعودية للإدارة البيئية.  تهدف هذه الجائزة الى ترسيخ المفهوم الواسع للإدارة البيئية في الوطن العربي.

تمنح الجائزة وقدرها 40.000 دولار امريكي لكل من الأربعة مجالات التالية:

1.    أفضل البحوث في مجال الإدارة البيئية.

2.    أفضل تطبيقات الإدارة البيئية في الأجهزة الحكومية.

3.    أفضل تطبيقات الإدارة البيئية في القطاع الخاص.

A number of scholarships, funded by the Karim Rida Said Foundation and the University of Oxford, will be available for students under 40 years of age to take up places at Oxford to read for a taught Master’s degree in October 2008.
